Approve & Issue — Workflow

How a permit goes from Request to Live. Each box is a status; the role on each arrow is who performs that step. Click a status to open the task that handles it.

The Permit Requestor creates the permit; the PCA validates it; SIMOPS endorsement is added only when the SIMOPS box was ticked; OA & HSE verify; RSES authorises; the PCA issues; the Performing Authority accepts and opens it on site. The dashed red arrow is Revert — any approver can send the permit back a step for correction (Revert a Permit to a Previous Step).

Shutdown fast track

During a shutdown, an approved permit can follow a shorter path: validation and verification are skipped and the permit goes straight to authorisation, issue and opening.
